The Eugene O’Neill Foundation, Tao House
The Eugene O’Neill Foundation, Tao House(EONF) honors the legacy of Eugene O’Neill, America’s foremost playwright, through educational and artistic programming as well as sharing resources that focus on Eugene O’Neill’s contributions to American theatre. They needed a website that was artistic, functional, and easy to manage.
Old vs New
The Foundation’s previous site was difficult to navigate, making it hard for users to purchase event tickets or even make a simple donation. All transactions required the user to leave the site and use PayPal. Board Members struggled to utilize the site and could not find forms easily or schedule library usage time.

These issues, along with lacking visual interest such as color or organized images on the site, made it a lackluster experience and did not keep the user's interest. The site was built by a former volunteer and the current administrator had little training making the project difficult to manage.
By utilizing new images and colors, we provided a stunning site. The reorganized content allows the user to quickly find what they need. By streamlining the creation of events and ticketing as well as setting up a customized ticketing system, the site now allowed for additional donations and much easier updates.
Behind the Curtain
The new credit card processing system we set up allows users to stay on-site to finish their transactions. We set up a board portal to allow select users access to documents, an internal calendar, and the ability to make reservations to use the library.
We created online applications for educational programs rather than using PDFs. All forms are now also connected directly to Constant Contact.
All of these features caused the site to gain interest and functionality.
In order to maintain this, we provided thorough training for the current administrator and created videos for her to reference in the future.
Fully Responsive
The new site was built from the very beginning with all screen sizes in mind. From phones to tablets, portrait to landscape, the new Eugene O'Neill Foundation site is fully responsive.

The Eugene O’Neill Foundation made this project an amazing experience for us. The client was responsive and quickly provided feedback as well as assets. The Foundation’s enthusiasm for preserving the home and works of Eugene O’Neill was contagious and inspired us to create a site that will help them grow their educational programs and share the works of O’Neill.
